Chucky Coffee

The shop is located deep within the commercial street near Seongbuk-gu Office, between Hansung University Station and Bomun Station. Along the spacious commercial road, you'll find grandmothers, young women, grandfathers, young men, and a slender black cat passing by, rather than cars. The shop's facade is a full glass window, with a square-shaped bar table in the center, and a roasting room partitioned by glass in the middle. The overall impression is industrial. This shop also supplies a lot of coffee beans. The owner has long hair and seems to have a unique personality. I heard they moved here after working in coffee near Konkuk University. For the coffee beans, I ordered the Ethiopia Getikum Teppi Washed as a filter. Two cups were presented: an ice glass and a coffee cup. Before drinking it iced, I tasted the coffee and found it smooth and rich. The coffee notes were caramel, hazelnut, and lemongrass. There are four types of single-origin beans, and I imagine each would be delicious. The iced version now seems to add a slight sharpness to the original flavor. It seems autumn is arriving. The area around Samseon-dong, where the shop is located, has the highest concentration of universities in Seoul, including Sungshin Women's University, Korea University, and Hansung University, each with their respective campuses. However, this area doesn't have the vibrant university town atmosphere of places like Sinchon. The universities are often separated by hills, so they aren't closely intertwined. The Seongbukcheon Stream flows between the schools. This autumn, it's worth enjoying a cup of coffee and the season in this neighborhood, where, as written on a local bus stop, time flows slowly beneath the Hanyangdoseong Wall, with Gilsangsa Temple, university campuses, and Seongbukcheon Stream.
