This is a roastery coffee shop located in the new city of Wirye, near the eastern Changgokcheon stream.
There's a coffee desk inside, and a roasting machine is attached to the outer window. The aroma of roasting coffee wafts even from outside.
The young male owner tells me that there's a sparse, barren lot across the road, which will soon be developed into apartments, blocking the view.
The current view is indeed pleasant. That side gets good sunlight and is cool. Even with new apartments rising a bit further back, it doesn't feel suffocating, but if they rise right in front, it likely will. By then, I suppose they'll adapt in their own way, and a new market will emerge for this owner.
Seeing that coffee is served in disposable cups, it seems they don't use dedicated mugs.
Right in front, there's a painting of fruits, supposedly by the owner's elder sister, which suits this shop well and perfectly fits the season.
The interior of the shop is simple, as is the trend in modern coffee shops. Many people who come in order Iced Americano. It's said to be an Americano hotspot. While iced coffee is mainly for its refreshing taste, people must like it here because this shop does it particularly well, I suppose.
The coffee has a slightly blunt taste; a heavy flavor dominates over other notes. It's not a burnt taste, but it seems heavily roasted, and I wonder if the beans naturally aren't very acidic.
It would be nice to come here in the morning, enjoy the bright sunlight outside from the cool, shaded interior of the shop, and listen to fitting music alongside the wonderful painting.
