The cafe is situated between Geomdansan and Namhansan mountains. A trail leading up Geomdansan is located above the cafe, which is also part of the route for cyclists heading to Namhansanseong Fortress. As you come up the uphill road next to Singok Elementary School, ascending from Hanam-daero, you'll see a single-story building on a spacious plot to your left, just before the school. This is Kevin Cafe. As you climb the wooden stairs and the cafe door opens, you're greeted by a spacious interior with long wooden tables leisurely arranged, and the view of the yard and lush greenery outside the window is refreshing. In the distance, the ridges of Geomdansan, covering half the sky, are vibrant with green. Inside the kitchen, there's a separate roasting area. A coffee system diagram made of pipes is drawn on the wall, and next to it, there's a painting and writing by artist Noh Seo-won. It's about time. "Time and Time: What is time to us? Among the countless essential elements for our survival on this earth, such as sunlight, air, and water, time is also an inseparable condition. However, I believe the way people use and perceive this time varies greatly. For convenience, we refer to time as past, present, and future, and further delineate it into year, month, day, hour, minute, and second. Yet, time, like an invisible transparent thread or air, must be flowing somewhere, long and wide, without even a fleeting gap. And things that flow away and never return are usually precious and beautiful, just like our lives... I hope that while you appreciate this, it becomes a time to ponder about time as a gift." - Attached to 'Conception of the Work'. Both the writing and the painting evoke a feeling. I ordered a drip coffee made with Colombian beans. The lively barista brewed the coffee for me. The balance was excellent. Sipping the coffee, I gazed at the spacious, quiet interior, the greenery outside the left window, and the red awning in front of the right door. Is this what comfort feels like in an unfamiliar space? Both my body and mind relaxed. The aroma of coffee spread calmly, like a lake. As I was nearly finished with my coffee, a woman came in and bought some beans. She had Guatemalan beans ground and packaged, and the aroma was lovely. Kevin Cafe, at the entrance of Geomdansan in Hanam City, offers good coffee and a brief, pleasant respite.
